Mr. Joshua Osoi and his family are a cornerstone of the Embolioi community. Present at every single engagement, meeting, and workshop since 2021, the Osoi family represents the very essence of community-led development. Witnessing their personal transformation has been a beautiful testament to how holistic flourishing unfolds when vision meets determination.

During our initial surveys in 2021 and 2023, having a constant, reliable power connection at home felt like an impossible dream for Mr Osoi’s household. But during the 2023 survey, he decided it was time to turn that dream into an actionable priority. He set his sights specifically on a clean, sustainable solar home system from a recognised provider.

Participating in community meetings since 2021 taught us that real progress begins at home. Bringing clean solar energy to my family wasn’t just about electricity, it was about peace of mind, safety, and showing my household what disciplined work can achieve.

Mr Osoi did not wait for a handout. Instead, he designed a disciplined savings plan fueled by his weekly livestock sales at the market. For three months, every single sheep and goat sold contributed directly to his energy fund. Once he had accumulated the necessary capital, he approached Safaricom, secured an affordable solar panel kit, and purchased the system in full.

Today, the solar panels are fully installed, bathing his home in clean, bright light. It is an achievement he carries with immense pride, noting that his household is now significantly safer and more secure than ever before.
